InnerMission Productions, in association with V-Day, presents One Billion Rising San Diego on Thursday, February 14, 2013. One Billion Rising San Diego is part of a global uprising designed to bring an end to violence against women and girls. There will be events all day, beginning with a citywide strike at 2:14 pm on 02.14.2013, a march in downtown San Diego at 4:30 pm and an uprising that includes music and dancing at Balboa Park at the Organ Pavilion from 6:30-8:30 pm.

San Diego Area Events
STRIKE
At 2:14 pm on 2/14/13 there will be a city wide coordinated 20 minute walk out. San Diego will walk out of their homes, jobs, and classrooms. This unified stance will mark the beginning of the day’s events in which we will come together as a community who agrees that we will no longer accept violence as an option.
Employers are being asked to either give their staff the day off to join us or organize a rising within their work day. We are securing locations throughout San Diego that can serve as meeting places for the rising. MARCH
At 4:30 pm on 02.14.2013 San Diego will march together in the streets. We will march down Second Avenue up Broadway across on 5th Avenue and back down to the Civic Center on B Street.
DANCE
At 6:30 pm One Billion Rising San Diego will gather in Balboa Park at the Organ Pavilion. This event is free to the public and will feature Eveoke Dance Theatre, DJ Redlite, Gill Sotu, Maynard Dean Wade in a live performance of his song inspired by V-day entitled One Billion Rising, along with other local performers, and community advocates coming together to end violence – and dance!
