Picture This: Yoga Studio in a Home Plans Grand Opening

Owners Lori Shaw and Rose Polak opens their doors this weekend in Mount Helix abode.

Some people like to pose sexy.  Lori Shaw and Rose Polak offer you a chance to pose yoga.

As part of the grand opening of their new La Mesa business—Yama Yoga Healing Retreat—the owners plan a photo shoot for people to document their yoga stylings.

“Just seeing what kind of postures people are most proud of and what they’ve been working on will be the most fun and interesting part,” she said.

Owners  Shaw and Polak hope their family friendly meet-and-greet will give folks a taste of things to come.

“[The studio] is within a home, so it has a unique setting,” said Polak, who’s been an instructor for three years.  “When Lori and her husband bought the house, she knew right away that she wanted to open it up and share it with people.”

The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Saturday, May 21, at 4829 La Cruz Dr. in Mount Helix. Polak says they’ll also have a studio class and cooking demo and free 10-minute massages.

Polak says the studio will also provide Zumba lessons and Swahili language classes and all things “holistic and health based.”
