Bugsy's Brew Coffee the Newest Coffee Shop to Open in La Mesa

La Mesans now have a new place to "get caffeinated" after the opening of a family-owned coffee shop.

, located at 8759 La Mesa Blvd., opened in July, offering customers another comfortable place to relax and enjoy coffee, pastries and desserts.

The coffee shop offers a great environment to relax with cozy seating with tables, free wi-fi for those who need an office away from home, and a family seating area with fun items to keep the kids busy. The menu has wide variety and kid-friendly choices.

Bugsy’s Brew Coffee offers the highest quality beans roasted in San Diego, featuring Ryan’s Brothers Coffee. All the coffee is certified fair trade. The shop also offers specialty desserts from The Dessert Tray, owned by another local La Mesa resident, Diane Testa. You can order desserts for your next event at Bugsy’s.

As a celebration of La Mesa’s history, the shop is decorated with photographs showing the development of La Mesa’s business district and other local personalities, including La Mesa’s police from 1939.

Owner Dan Moran is a San Diego native and lives in La Mesa with his family. He has more than 20 years experience in the restaurant business and is excited to bring locally roasted, fresh coffee to La Mesa.

“People will find a great place to relax and enjoy high quality coffee beverages every day,” said Moran. 

The Morans are active in the community supporting local schools and sports.  His children attend and are involved in little league, soccer, and dance.

Bugsy’s Brew Coffee takes pride in extraordinary customer service.  Moran said everyone who enters Bugsy’s is treated like a friend. He hopes that the warm atmosphere will make you want to make a stop at Bugsy’s part of your daily routine.
